I can foresee a rather dull Valentine's day this year.
Haha.. Well, singlehood has its pros too ok! Just tat on this very day (14th FEB), the pros of having someone to love TOTALLY outweighs that of being single. Anyway, instead of frowning and perpetually giving myself reasons to feel depressed, I'm gonna bore YOU with my long winded and boring history of Valentines Day... hahaha
I read up 3 versions of the how V'day actually came about, but this one was the most interesting. According to this legend, St. Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl -- who may have been his jailor's daughter -- who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today. Although the truth behind the Valentine legends is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. It's no surprise that by the Middle Ages, Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and France.

Haha.. Well doubt anyone cares anyway.. Cos to all the lover-boys and girls, this is a perfect chance to surprise your loved ones with pretty flowers and expensive watches.
To the shop vendors and florist, this is the best time to triple or quadruple their monthly profits.
To the singles, this is a good time to catch up with your girlys(if you're a girl) or buddies (if you're not) ..
To the married MUMs and DADs, its a great time to re-create the 'spark' they once shared on this special day.
And to the ppl like me? Mm, probably time to catch up with the "never ending-always stacking-snow balling" set of tutorials.. =/
